Rizal Shrine in Calamba, Laguna

We already explored different tourist destination in the country but it was so sad that I didn't have a chance to visit the house of our National Hero and imagine it was the nearest tourist destination here in Calamba City,where our house located, until yesterday when i went to Calamba City Post Office to apply for a postal id for my passport renewal and my husband told me to drop by here. 

Bahay ni Rizal or Dambana ni Rizal a two-story house of our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. Spanish- Era style house in Calamba,Laguna where Jose Rizal was born on June 19, 1861.It is situated along Mercado Street and Rizal Street in Poblacion 5 City of Calamba and beside St.John the Baptist Parish Church and the City College of Calamba.

                                                     Horse Stable and Carriage       

The lower portion is made of stones and bricks. The ground floor of the house has a stable for horses and carriages. It contains various Rizal's exhibits during his childhood,comprise of exact copies of Rizal's writings, drawings, and original baptismal certificate.It has a timeline for all Rizal's achievements during his school days and as a doctor in Dapitan.

                                                               

                                                       

Formal Dining Room

                                         

The upper portion of the house consist of an old kitchen with heirloom collection of jars and kitchen utensils, living room,bedrooms, dining area, bathroom and library. alongside to the library is the family's formal dining room.The upper floor consist of hardwood, and it has sliding windows made of capiz shells.

At the back of the shrine is a mini-park were visitors took a souvenir photos in a nipa hut and with a boyhood Rizal figure and his dog.
